Happy New Year from Terror 29

A lot has happened this year, but at Terror 29 we also have a lot to be thankful for. Let’s take a look back at 2020 while we prepare for the New Year.
To start off, I have to give a shameless plug to our TikTok profile @terror29haunt. This year we grew from having only a couple hundred followers to almost 230,000 followers! When the pandemic started to hit in South Dakota we halted building operations at the haunt, not knowing what the future would bring. So in the meantime, we really focused on expanding out the Terror 29 brand. Along with TikTok, we also grew our other social platforms such as YouTube and Instagram. While the plan for 2020 all along was to start a web series and create more content, none of us imagined exploding on TikTok and getting millions of views and likes. That was a welcomed surprise! Huge shout out to all of our followers! ❤️
Then in June the planning for COVID-19 mitigation for operating the haunt safely was underway.
We made a lot of changes and did what we believed was the best way to stay open during October. That started with taking down high touch surface areas, we implemented timed ticketing, required face masks and much more. And most importantly we made it through safely. If one thing 2020 taught us was how to survive a pandemic. We couldn’t imagine not having a haunt season as many haunted houses across the country had that harsh reality.
During the haunt season a producer of The Doctor Oz Show reached out and asked if they could use some of our scare actor footage for a segment on why people get scared in haunted houses. Of course we said yes! While it was only 10 seconds of fame, it was on national TV with worldwide syndication. Star, one of our haunt actors, also had a cameo on the segment.
SiouxFalls.Business & The Argus Leader did stories with us about exploding on TikTok and putting out more content which unintentionally landed us on The Doctor Oz Show. What a really cool moment to have happen in such a crappy year.

While it was unfortunately different vibes this year because of the pandemic we still brought the TERROR and holy cow did we get the screams. Guests going through were in for a surprise!
