Dying Light 1 and 2

Dying Light, and the upcoming Dying Light 2, are open-world, post-apocalyptic, survival horror games that offer great gameplay, graphics, and a multitude of options for players to choose their own paths.  With options for players to choose to fight with tons of melee options or to choose flight with parkour skills, Dying Light gives players the freedom to choose how they want their game to play out.

The Outlast Trilogy

The Outlast games are survival horror games where you play as investigative journalists who find themselves in some pretty sticky situations when investigating asylums and religious sects.  The first and second psychological thrillers are set in the same world, with different characters.  The upcoming installment, to be released in 2021, will be a prequel to the others taking place during the Cold War.

Resident Evil Games

The Resident Evil games follow suit from the movies, with creatures and zombies that are created by the pharmaceutical company Umbrella Corporation.  With ten original games, this series doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon and is sure to satisfy all of your jump scare and zombie creature needs.

Layers of Fear 1 and 2

These psychological and psychedelic horror games are among the best.  The games focus on the deranged minds of an artist and an actor and offer beautiful scenes full of art and intense storylines to follow.  These games are full of jump scares, psychological mind games, and ideas that will haunt you well into the night!

The Evil Within 1 and 2

Both the first and second installments of The Evil Within follow the same character, detective Sebastian Castellanos.  The first in the series comes after the detective is investigating the site of a mass murder.  Sebastian and his partner are transported into the world of terror while at the murder scene.  The second is three years later after Sebastian has left the police department and turned to alcohol.  Sebastian is once again plunged into a world of terror after he gets news that his daughter is still alive.

Silent Hill

This is another series with a large number of games, proving it’s loved by horror fans.  There are eight games in the main Silent Hill series, all based on the franchise and taking place in the fictional town of Silent Hill.  Most of the games introduce new characters to the town and follow them as they look for loved ones or realize they are trapped themselves.  Each story offers more insight into the town that we all know and love.
